Climate change action through our disability communities

Climate change affects everyone, but not everyone experiences it in the same way.

That's why in Auckland, people with disabilities are being given a chance to shape the city's climate solutions.

Te Hōnonga a Iwi is proud to be one of six projects funded through a $200,000 pilot project set up to help disability communities prepare for a changing climate.

We will be working with Wilson School and Takapuna Grammar students, supporting their vision to grow fresh food produce and contribute to community resilience and their own learning.

Hear more about the project and how it came about - Jesse Mulligan discussed the pilot with Ben Brooks, a senior policy advisor at Auckland Council and disability advocate Juliana Carvalho on the RNZ Afternoons radio show.
