Child and Youth Saftey

It is the responsibility of any community-based organization involving children and young people to promote their safety and wellbeing. Promoting child and youth safety involves a two-pronged approach that mitigates physical hazards in the outdoor setting and a robust child protection policy that promotes the emotional, psychological and spiritual safety of Te Hōnonga a Iwi child or youth volunteers including contact and communications before, during or after working bees and with Te Hōnonga a Iwi Youth Leaders volunteering within autonomous leadership roles. Full policy coming soon.
