A group of representatives from local businesses and organisations continued the work cutting away weeds and creepers to release the native saplings at Te Hōnonga a Iwi Restoring Rosedale Park’s project site this week.

“It was fantastic to have team members from North Harbour Hockey Association, Massey University, the Upper Waitematā Ecological Network and Brightstar supporting our first business working bee for 2023,” says project co-ordinator Nicky Shave.

The group used flax knives to cut away weeds and creepers, creating space for the native trees planted last spring to grow freely.

A community working bee from 9am to 11am on Saturday, 29 April will tackle this work in another part of the site. This event was scheduled to take place on Saturday, 22 April but was postponed.
